BlackBerry presents ¡Q’Viva! The Chosen starring Jennifer Lopez, Marc Anthony, and Jamie King
By Michelle Haag on 30 Jan 2012 06:10 pm
I watched a couple of previews and Youtube videos for ¡Q’Viva! The Chosen, and was really pleased to see how much screen time the BlackBerry PlayBook seems to have in the show! They use it for everything, from watching videos of potential candidates, to recording video, and playing it back via HDMI to flat screen TV. What a perfect device to take on such a journey, since they can use the BlackBerry Bridge for internet access while on the road and in villages without modern technology.
You can find out more details about the show as well as how to submit your own videos for consideration and watch more behind-the-scenes footage of the show at the link below, and check out the show's official trailer after the break. The show premiered January 28th on Univision. Thanks for sending this in Chango_BB!!

This is good! It seems like blackberry is listening and trying to put more advertising out there... I noticed this also in the NHL allstar game that RIM had Blackberry plastered everywhere!

So where are the executives checking email using bridge? :)
Really, the youtube clip is pretty stunning (along with JL). This new exposure certainly takes RIM, uh, BlackBerry...out of the old corporate suite.
Lots to like. I'm not a fan of the "reality shows" but I am sure there will be a big audience for this, given the topline hosts. This must be the kind of marketing Thor was talking about.
Hope there is a version in English, not clear from the promo.
PlayBook is for doers...and dancers?

"This must be the kind of marketing Thor was talking about."
Sounds about right, we have yet to see Thor in action though. This video and marketing is still attributed to the 2 previous RIM CEO's. You remember when this video (or a very similar one) was posted on here (CB) about a month ago? All in all, it seems as if the two previous CEO's left Thor with a good stepping stone to capitalize on.

The videos on their YouTube page (www.youtube.com/qviva) are mainly in English and the bits in Spanish are subtitled.

AWESOME!!!!! Thats what they need to be doing! I hope the new CMO has more ideas like this up their sleeve. If so, I believe we could be on our way my fellow BB fans!

Good for Blackberry advertising on shows! :)
On a unrelated-to-blackberry note, anyone else think its interesting that Jennifer Lopez and her ex-husband Marc Anthony are on the same show? So much for divorce!

We have been waiting to hear an official date for OS 2.0 a really long time from BlackBerry or a RIM employee. Ever since the first whispers of a date were published, it's all been speculation. Today though we got some official RIM confirmation. At the Developing Native Games with the BlackBerry NDK 2.0 Webcast today, Angel Aldana, RIM Manager (Latin America Alliances), confirmed the official date of PlayBook's OS 2.0 launch to be... Tuesday, February 21st! Barring any setbacks, we will have a shiny new OS on our PlayBooks in about 5 days! This is awesome.
